๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

Why Seal Your Pavers

The Florida Sun Is Brutal On Untreated Pavers

UV, summer rain, ant hills, and weed germination all attack unsealed pavers within the first 18 months. Sealing is the single best thing you can do to keep them looking new.

01

Locks Pavers In Place

Sealed joints keep every paver where it belongs. No shifting, no sinking edges, no loose corners.

02

Blocks Weeds & Ants

Sealed joints don't germinate weeds and don't host ant colonies. The single biggest complaint from unsealed paver owners โ€” gone.

03

Protects Color From UV

Florida sun fades unsealed pavers fast. Sealer locks in the original tone and brings out a wet-look richness if you want it.

04

Easier To Clean

Oil drips, rust spots, leaf stains โ€” they sit on top of the sealer instead of soaking in. Most stains rinse off with a hose.

Common Questions

Paver Sealing FAQ

How often should I seal my pavers?
Most Florida pavers should be re-sealed every 3 to 5 years. Pool decks and driveways with heavy sun exposure are usually closer to 3 years; covered patios and walkways stretch to 5. We can usually tell from the surface whether you're due โ€” if water beads when you spray it, the seal is still doing its job.
Wet look or matte finish โ€” which should I choose?
Wet look (gloss) brings out the deepest color saturation and gives that just-rained-on richness. Matte (natural) keeps the pavers looking exactly as they do dry but with all the protection. Pool decks lean matte for less glare; driveways and patios are split. We bring samples to every quote so you can see both on your actual pavers.
How long does sealer last in Florida heat?
A properly applied two-coat commercial sealer lasts 3 to 5 years in Marion County's climate. The longevity depends on sun exposure, traffic, and whether the surface is covered. We use Florida-rated sealers built specifically for the UV and heat profile here.
Will sealing change the color of my pavers?
A wet-look sealer enhances color, making it deeper and more saturated. A matte sealer is essentially invisible โ€” your pavers look the same dry as they did before. Either way, sealer prevents future fading from UV.
When can I walk and drive on it after sealing?
Light foot traffic the same evening. Vehicle traffic the next morning. We always finish a job on a day with no rain forecast for 24 hours, and we'll reschedule for free if weather changes mid-job.
Do you seal pool deck pavers differently?
Yes. Pool decks need a non-slip additive in the sealer to keep the surface safe when wet. We use a fine grit additive on every pool deck unless you ask us not to. The deck stays just as easy to clean and rinse, but won't get slippery.
